Bell Peppers Drying?

I transplanted 5 little bell pepper plants and it looks like they're just dying. I planted them in the ground outside about 4 days ago, and they were happy little guys.

Ground had compost worked into it about 8 inches deep. A little mulch around them so the water doesn't just evaporate straight away.

They are planted near a wall, and the ones that get more shade in the afternoon seem to be doing better than the ones that get less shade. The worst one is so dry i feel like if i touched it, it would just crumble.

Any ideas what could be going on? Or if I have a chance of saving any of the poor little guys?

Sorry, I am now just checking your post. Sounds like the compost and topsoil were not mixed in well because the moisture was not saying put. If you are every worried about transplants, leave the hose on a constant drip until they establish. Sorry, don't give up!
