Speaking of sedums, I bought a Jade Plant from Little Red Nursery the other day. I bought one of the smaller ones. Do I need to transplant it from the pot it is in, or can I leave it in that plastic pot and put IT inside a decorative planter.
I bought it to live indoors, is that all right. Al of my other sedum plants seem thrive outside in the sun and hot weather.
You can leave it inside the deco planter awhile but remember to transplant it in the next 3-4 months as it will do better if you give it more room. Indoors is great, it will burn outside unless it is keep in the full shade.
I'm terrible about over-watering stuff, how much water should I give it. I've been giving it about 1 cup per week.
The pot I put it in is a closed bottom pot. When I transplant it can I put a layer of rocks in the bottom, and some landscape fabric in there (then the soil on top of that).
If it is in a 6" container that is ok, by a 4" plant would only need about 1/3 c in a closed container. I would definately recommend a layer for drainage next time around. Foam peanuts work well.
