Received this video question March 28th 2008. My answer to it was: You definately have roses there. Your first large rose really would be difficult to move. If you and your friend really want to try it I would first recommend you doing it while it is dormant (you are a shade late, but not so late that if you were determined to try you success would only be slightly altered by the little lateness). Normally moving roses should be performed in the dead of winter. But if you are determined to try you MUST MUST MUST use root stimulator at the time of transplant 2 wks later and again 2 weeks later. If it is still struggling keep applying it. Water it more than you think you need too. Amend the planting site with out Rose and Bedding Mix as well, it really is good mulch. I would also recommend pruning it back at least a 1/3 of its size to help it ( and you) while moving it.
